TRAI (TCCCPR 2018) mandates that all businesses sending SMS register their business entity, headers (sender IDs), content templates, and consent templates on DLT platforms such as Smartping, Vodafone, Jio TrueConnect, and others.

Business Entity Registration

DLT Registration Process

Register on any of the approved DLT platforms by providing the required information and documents. Once you receive your Entity ID/Registration ID, update it in your Arihant Global account:

Header (Sender ID) Registration

Registration Process on DLT Platforms

Two types of headers can be registered:

  • Other/Transactional (OTP, alerts, service updates, etc.) – Requires a 6-character alpha sender ID.

  • Promotional (offers, discounts, marketing messages, etc.) – Requires a 6-digit numeric sender ID.

Important Notes:

  • Headers (Sender IDs) are case-sensitive (e.g., ARIHANT and arihant are different).

  • The header should match your business name. If different, provide supporting documents like website links, trademark certificates, etc.

After approval, email a screenshot of your approved headers to Arihant Global’s support team to configure them in your account.

Content and Consent Template Registration

DLT Registration Process for Content Templates

For Jio TrueConnect DLT

  1. Navigate to Template > Content Template Registration.

  2. Select template type: Promotional, Transactional, Service Implicit, or Service Explicit.

  3. Choose SMS as the communication type.

  4. Select the appropriate category and consent ID (optional).

  5. Link the headers you want to use with this template.

  6. Enter the message template content and submit it.

For VILPOWER DLT

  1. Navigate to Template > Content Template > Add.

  2. Choose the template type: Promotional, Service Implicit, Service Explicit, or Transactional.

  3. Select category and consent template (if applicable).

  4. Link all relevant headers.

  5. Provide a template name and select the message type (Text/Unicode).

  6. Enter the message template content and save.

Consent Template Registration

  1. Navigate to Template > Consent Templates > Add.

  2. Enter a template name and brand name.

  3. Define the scope of consent and submit.

Important Notes:

  • OTPs, alerts, service updates, etc., fall under Service Implicit/Service Inferred.

  • All templates must include the brand name in the content part.

FAQs and Assistance

Do I need DLT registration to send bulk SMS?

Yes, as per TRAI regulations in India, businesses must register on the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) platform to send SMS.

Our SMS validity is 1 year from the date of purchase. However, as a special offer for new registrations, we provide 1 additional year of validity absolutely free — giving you a total of 2 years of SMS validity to use your balance without any rush.

 If your SMS control panel remains unused for 90 days, your account will be marked inactive. To reactivate, please email us at [email protected].

SMS credits are typically added automatically after 2 hours of successful payment. For Quick SMS Credits, you can share your payment details and SMS account information via email at [email protected], and our team will process it soon.

SMS credits are processed Monday through Saturday between 10:00 AM to 08:00 PM (IST). Payments made outside these hours will be processed on the next working day during operational hours.

All payments made to Arihant Global are final and non-refundable. This applies to plan cancellations, service downgrades, and unused services. We recommend selecting your plan carefully before payment.

We charge on a submit basis by default, meaning your SMS balance is deducted once the message is successfully submitted to the operator — not after delivery. This ensures faster processing and transparent usage tracking.

Yes, you can have multiple sender IDs but these sender IDs/Headers must be approved from the DLT portal.

You can track the delivery status in real-time through the reports section in your dashboard.

A standard SMS is 160 characters long in English and 70 characters in regional languages. If the message exceeds this, it is split and sent as multiple messages (concatenated SMS), with each segment containing 153 characters.

Yes, you can send SMS in regional languages using Unicode messaging, which supports Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, etc.
